Charley Langowski, Executive Director

 Charley has a passion for community development, heritage management, and providing hands-on experience in the heritage fields!   After studying archaeology and anthropology at Appalachian State University, Charley jumped over to the museum field in 2016. She has experience developing interpretative plans, facilitating collections management projects, implementing adaptive re-use plans, and fostering meaningful community partnerships. As Operation Director, Charley will be working on all things record-   keeping, program support, and development. Charley is particularly passionate about the intersection of heritage and environmental conservation. In her spare time, Charley enjoys cooking, exploring the Mississippi River, and scouring second-hand stores.

Sadie Young

Sadie comes to Northern Bedrock as the Project Manager after years of working in Grand Portage, MN as a natural resource assistant, wildland firefighter and crew leader. She has received a B.S. from UMD in environmental science and an M.S. from Bemidji State in environmental chemistry. She is excited to continue to call the north shore her home but appreciates the opportunity to move closer to where she grew up and where most of her family still resides. Making the move with her is her husband, 2 step daughters and 3 dogs. Sadie hopes to bring her masonry and leadership development experience to Northern Bedrock so she can continue the work with young adults that she is so passionate about. In her free time Sadie enjoys knitting, spending time with her family and climbing firetowers.

Dominick Ippolite, Program Manager

Dom joins Northern Bedrock as the Program Manager. He comes from working for the Boy Scouts, doing outdoor programming all across northern Minnesota. He received his B.A. in Anthropology and certificate in Museum Studies from the University of Minnesota, Duluth. Dom hopes to bring his skills in relationship building and program development to Northern Bedrock, where he can continue to help young adults succeed. Outside of work, he enjoys rock climbing and camping on the north shore.

Ian Wallin, Outreach Coordinator

Ian joins the Northern Bedrock team as the Outreach Coordinator. Originally from Silver Creek MN, he was raised by his sled dog mushing parents! Ian has always loved the outdoors. Over the past seven years, Ian had worked for MNHS at Split Rock Lighthouse where he wrote programming about the history of fresnel lenses, lighthouse folklore, and steam powered bulk freighters on the great lakes. After taking one year off from college due to covid, Ian graduated from the University of Minnesota, Duluth with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting in 2022. In his free time, he enjoys reading anything he can get his hands on, watching movies, and fishing with his dad.

Elden Lindamood, Facilities Manager

Elden joined the Northern Bedrock Historic Preservation Corps staff after working as an architect for many years. He grew up in Maryland in a house undergoing total rehabilitation, and the interest in all things old and building related stayed with him. He obtained his B.S in Environmental Studies, his B.A in Architecture, and a minor in Art from North Dakota State University. In his roll as Facilities Manager with NBHPC he hopes to return to getting his hands dirty tackling projects at the organization’s recently acquired building in historic Morgan Park, as well as at the Halfway Ranger Station property. He brings his knowledge of architecture, construction, stained glass, and building science to the table, along with his passions for art, classic cars, traditional skills, and general tinkering.
